"In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with thing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort."
- "The Hobbit" by J.R.R. Tolkien
I'm Lisa and this is the tiny corner of the world where I live life with my people. My people are my husband, Ethan and our sweet dogs Kei and Bilbo (I'll acknowledge they're technically not "people" but they eat enough food/destroy enough toys to count as a full person in our budget).
In a nutshell, we are Christ worshippers, proud nerds, and sports enthusiasts (and if there is a level above enthusiast, we've reached it). We are self-classified as major introverts who just happen to dearly love people.
We are foster parents and wanted a place to intentionally share the process, all updates, heart thoughts, good stories, and authentic glimpses into our lives and all the living that we're doing in this new and very special season and adventure.
One of our favorite series (book and movies) is Lord of the Rings. We named one of our dogs after a hobbit, and as introverts who love to stay in, we're particularly entranced by the idea of a home like a hobbit-hole - comfy, cozy, warm, familiar, and full of love (and food). It is our deepest desire that everyone who steps into our home - foster children, family, and friends alike - will feel all those things.
We're here to share our heart, our lives, and our stories and thank you for being a part of it all!
